Illinois state law requires Nicor to fund energy efficiency improvements. When your home leaks air, Nicor must supply more gas to heat or cool it at their expense. It is cheaper for them to pay ACG to seal your home than to keep absorbing that waste. You get a permanent upgrade. Nicor reduces demand. Everybody wins.
